It's not okay to want or need something from someone else.

It's okay to ask for something for my baby but not for myself.

Doing things for yourself or asking other people for help is selfish.

It’s important that I please and support others all the time.

If I ask others for help, I will be burdening them.

I can’t ask for something if it will inconvenience other people.

I have to know whether a person is going to say yes before I can ask.

Saying no to other people is selfish.

I can’t feel at ease if someone else is frustrated with me for saying no.

Other people have problems of their own; I shouldn’t burden them with mine.

A good mother should be willing to sacrifice her own needs for others.

I should be able to handle this on my own.

Good mothers don’t get overwhelmed (e.g., get angry, lose it, cry, feel unhappy).

If I ask others for help, they will know that I don’t know what I’m doing.

I’m the only one who can’t handle all this on my own.

If other people really cared, they would know what I need without my having to ask for it.

If someone says no to my request, it means that I shouldn’t have asked or that it was bad to ask in the first place.

Saying no to other people will make them think that I don’t like or care about them.

I don’t deserve to get what I want or need.

Other people should know what I need without my having to say it.
